Sediment

I starve
Myself for a taste
Of you.
Ribs bare
For the taking
And splendid
Hungry ache.
All these
Treacherous
Revelries,
My bravery
Always kills me
Severs the arteries
Clean
Lets the blood
Asphyxiate,
Flood the lungs.
Breath held
Like a well timed
Punchline.
My heart finds its
Way up through my
Mouth and I run my
Tongue like a blade
Through the silence.
I’m too much
Too much
Too much
For anyone
But I’ll love you
Until I finally
Sink
Slow
Spinning
Like a dark
Sediment.
